Adam James Davis is a Nottingham-based artist, writer, speaker and thinker. His influences include works by philosophers David Pearce, Robert Daoust and Andres Gomez Emilsson, as well as author Gavin Pretor-Pinney who wrote the book “The Wavewatcher’s Companion”. Ever since reading this book, Davis has been fascinated with all kinds of waves and cyclic phenomena: sound waves, ocean waves, and phenomena such as beat patterns and moiré patterns, all of which served as inspiration in the making of 'Spinning Orbs of Light'.

His favourite sound artists include Deepchord, Echospace, Lawrence English, Basic Channel, and Kraftwerk.

Davis' connection to Weird Garden include his ‘Scented Poetry’ performance art pieces - a spoken word project which integrates the use of fragrances in a live setting.
